PGNiG Upstream North Africa B.V. (formerly POGC Libya B.V.) with its headquarters in Amsterdam and Branch Office in Libya is a special-purpose company, fully owned by ORLEN S.A.
PGNiG Upstream North Africa B.V. was founded on 4 February 2008 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Then the company registered the Libyan Branch in Libya. The operating office was opened in Janzour District of Tripoli.
In February 2008 POGC Libya signed an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) with the National Oil Corporation of Libya, authorizing the company to carry out exploration work on Exploration and Production License 113 with an area of 5.5 thousand km2. The license is located within the Murzuq petroleum basin in southwestern Libya.
PGNiG Upstream North Africa B.V. closely cooperates with NOC in its daily activities.
All exploration activities in the License Area are suspended and a state of Force Majeure has been declared due to continued tensions in the country. The Company is monitoring the situation closely to ensure the safety of its staff.
