10.02.2011 PGNiG Among Founding Members of LBG Poland

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA has joined the Founding Members of London Benchmarking Group Poland (LBG Poland), the only representative office of LBG International in Poland, which offers one of the most widely used and reliable methodologies for management, measurement and reporting the impact of CSR efforts worldwide.

Apart from PGNiG, the first Polish companies to implement the LBG model include Bank Zachodni WBK, Danone, GlaxoSmithKline and Żywiec Zdrój. Their involvement has made it possible to adapt the model to Polish conditions so as to better address specific local needs.

The London Benchmarking Group model is a management model for a variety of CSR initiatives which helps improve the quality of CSR management and clarity of CSR reporting. It has been used by companies all over the world for more than 16 years.

The LBG system is one of the most reliable and popular sets of principles and tools facilitating the establishment of international standards for measuring the impact of CSR efforts.

Companies joining LBG become members of a benchmarking network which allows them to compare with other member companies from Poland and the whole world, drawing on their experience and cooperating in order to improve their CSR practices and communicate them with greater clarity inside and outside the organisation.

The exclusive licence to implement the methodology in Poland has been granted to CSR Consulting - a firm offering consulting services in the area of strategic CSR management.

"LBG proves that CSR activities are measurable. We show that social involvement delivers benefits both to the community and to the business. We are glad that LBG has begun the adaptation process on the Polish market. CSR Consulting and the Founding Members of LBG Poland are pioneers in implementing the LBG system at Polish businesses. We hope they will be a source of inspiration to develop new standards of measurement, reporting and communication of CSR efforts," says Alison Braybrooks, Associate Director of LBG International.
