Regarding numerous questions about our licence to explore for conventional natural gas in the vicinity of Kutno, estimated gas resources in the area may amount to approx. 100 billion cubic metres. However, the forecasts of the Kutno prospect's potential may only be confirmed after several wells have been drilled.

Currently, preparations are under way to spud a first well. With the target depth of 6.5 kilometres, it will be one of deepest wells ever to have been drilled in Poland. The work is expected to start in August 2011. Depending on the well results, a decision will be made regarding further investment in the license area. The results will be known in 2012.

The license operator is US-based FX Energy, which - just like Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA - holds a 50% interest in the license.
