16.03.2007 Gas prices remain unchanged – extension of the Gas tariff validity

On 16 March 2007, the President of the Energy Regulatory Agency(ERA) published, in the ERA Gas Industry Bulletin, the decision onextension of the current Tariff, which was approved on 14 March 2007.The validity term of the current Gas Tariff of PGNiG SA has beenextended for further six months, i.e. by 30 September 2007.

PGNiG requested the extension of the current tariff due to, among otherreasons, the implementation of the trade integration process within thePGNiG Group. The existing six distribution companies, which areresponsible for gas distribution and sales to smaller industrialconsumers and households on the basis of their own tariffs approved bythe President of ERA will be transformed into regional gas distributionoperators. Meanwhile, the trading function will be transferred toPGNiG. This change will involve preparation of completely new tariffs, both for PGNiG (following to the trade integration, the company willserve industrial and individual consumers), and for the gasdistribution companies (after their transformation into gasdistribution operators).

The new tariffs will have to be alignedwith the modified structure of the gas market in Poland and newprinciples of settlements with consumers and between energyundertakings in the unbundled environment. PGNiG decided to apply forextension of the current Tariff until completion of the tradeintegration process.
