16.03.2007 Diversification as the way of making the energy sector independent of the politics - PGNiG at the FLAME 2007 Conference

The question of diversification of gas supply dominated thediscussion on gas market development in Central and Eastern Europeduring the FLAME 2007 conference held on 12-16 March 2007 in Amsterdam.

At the moment, diversification of supply is the only way of making theenergy sector independent of the politics - said Cyryl Federowicz,Executive Director in PGNiG, responding to the question whetherdiversification was a political issue.


The representatives ofPGNiG took part in the round table discussion on the gas market inCentral and Eastern Europe. Among the panellists there wererepresentatives of gas companies from Slovakia, Czech Republic andSlovenia.


Following the acquisition of interests in theexploration and production licenses in the Norwegian Sea, PGNiG hasintensified its international activity.
FLAME 2007 was attended byrepresentatives of gas companies from all around the world. For thePGNiG delegation, the meeting in Amsterdam was an excellent opportunityto exchange views on the development of the gas industry. The Presidentof PGNiG - Krzysztof G?ogowski and the Vice-President - Zenon Kuchciakwere also holding discussions on new investments contemplated by PGNiGand the development of the fields in the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
