21.01.2010 Changes in EuRoPol Gaz

During the meeting in Warsaw on 20 January 2010, the Supervisory Board of EuRoPol Gaz unanimously adopted a resolution to suspend three members of the Management Board for three months. The reason for the decision was a long-term lack of cooperation among the Management Board members, which in turn led to a deadlock in the decision making process in the company.

By resolution of the Supervisory Board the President of the Management Board Michał Kwiatkowski, Vice-President of the Management Board Jurij Kałużski and a Management Board member Jerzy Tabaka were all suspended in performing their duties.

At the same time, the Supervisory Board temporarily delegated the following persons to the Management Board of EuRoPol Gaz: Michał Szubski, who is going to perform the duties of the President, Aleksander I. Miedwiediew, who is going to perform the duties of the Vice-President of the Management Board and Mirosław Dobrut as a member of the Management Board.

In the view of the Supervisory Board, such changes to the composition of the Management Board ensure better organisation of the issues of EuRoPol Gaz not dealt with so far within the ambit of an intra-government agreement, which is underway at the moment. Only direct involvement in the management of the company of the acting Presidents of the two major shareholders of EuRoPol Gaz, that is PGNIG SA (joint-stock company) and Gazprom Export, guarantees finding a solution to all the contentious issues within the period for which they had been delegated.
