PGNiG Upstream Norway AS has acquired a detailed 2D seismic image, which will facilitate the selection of a drilling location in the Shrek prospect within the PL838 licence area. It will be the first well drilled by the PGNiG Group as a licence operator on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Polish Oil and Gas Company and the American company Port Arthur LNG, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, have signed a 20-year contract for the sales and purchase of liquefied natural gas.

PGNiG Upstream Norway AS obtained a consent of the Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy to purchase over 42% shares in the Tommeliten Alpha filed from Equinor. The acquisition will allow to increase company’s gas production output from Norwegian portfolio by 0.5 bcm/year.

On Thursday December 13th, PGNiG SA will receive a delivery of liquefied gas shipped to Świnoujście by Centrica LNG Company Limited. It will be the third spot delivery arriving at the President Lech Kaczyński Terminal this year.

“We want the customers that have access to coal to have access to gas as well. The golden era of this commodity is ahead of us,” said Piotr Woźniak, President of PGNiG, during the COP24 climate conference in Katowice.

Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) won a tender for acquisition of rights to explore for, to appraise and to produce hydrocarbons – in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The United Arab Emirates is another country in which the Polish company was recognized for knowledge and competence in the upstream area.

Natural gas as a low-emission fuel for sustainable development and the advantages of gas in the light of the obligations under the Paris Agreement and the need to improve air quality are some of the topics that Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo will address during the COP24 climate summit held in Katowice. The company is an official partner of the conference. On December 10th, on the premises of the Polish Pavilion, it will host two debates attended by international experts.

The Management Board of PGNiG SA is satisfied with the information on the investment decision regarding the construction of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline. This is a key investment from the point of view of Poland's energy security and implementation of the PGNiG Group strategy.

Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) has launched a research and development project called ELIZA. In the future, the company wants to generate hydrogen through electrolysis relying on renewable energy sources and then inject it into gas storage facilities. This has been identified as one of the business areas holding the greatest growth potential for the entire Group.

The PGNiG Group posted an improvement across all key financials, both for Q3 2018 and year to date. For Q1-Q3 2018, the Group’s revenue was PLN 28.48bn, its EBITDA came in at PLN 5.77bn, and net profit reached PLN 2.82bn.
