Natural gas and crude oil production in the area of 4 provinces of Northern and Western Poland is the core activities of the Branch. The production plants are concentrated in 3 production centres: Grodzisk Wielkopolski, Gorzów Wielkopolski-Drezdenko, Ostrów Wielkopolski.
The Branch produces around 3.5 billion m3 nitrogenised natural gas, about 600 thousand tonnes of crude oil and also extracts sulphur and liquefied petroleum gas in the production process.
Aside the core production activities the Branch carries out the construction and exploration works of a gas underground storage facility, delivers gas to industrial and municipal customers in the vicinity of the gas reserves. We are the operator of the largest Polish underground gas storage Wierzchowice.
Over 90% of the production volume goes to the national gas pipeline, the remaining part is sold in the market of local customers. The largest of the latter include Heat and Power Generating Plant in Gorzów Wlkp. (which as the first in Poland implemented the project of using gas for the production of electric energy and heat using natural gas from local stocks) and Heat and Power Generating Plant in Zielona Góra.
