02.03.2012 PGNiG Technologie to build the Rembelszczyzna-Gustorzyn gas pipeline

On March 1st 2012, PGNiG Technologie, a subsidiary of Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA, executed an agreement with OGP GAZ-SYSTEM Rembelszczyzna Branch to build a high-pressure gas pipeline between Rembelszczyzna and Gustorzyn. The value of the contract is over PLN 193m, VAT-exclusive.

The project sponsor intends for the Rembelszczyzna-Gustorzyn pipeline to provide for higher gas volumes to be sent to north-eastern Poland and to realign the system of gas supplies to central Poland by reversing the gas flow direction. The new line will also permit the feeding of gas into the Kosakowo and Mogilno underground gas storage facilities.

This additional transmission line will provide support for the existing high-pressure gas pipelines connecting Rembelszczyzna and Włocławek. The project will enhance the safety and continuity of gas supplies to gas distributors connected to the network and to retail customers.

PGNiG Technologie Sp. z o.o. will implement the project jointly with BSiPG Gazoprojekt S.A. The project has been divided into three stages, corresponding to the construction of specific sections of the gas pipeline. The project is planned to be completed in May 2014.

The Rembelszczyzna-Gustorzyn gas pipeline will be built in the  Warsaw and Bydgoszcz Provinces, will have a diameter of 700 mm and will be about 176 km long.
