03.02.2012 PGNiG SA has enough gas available to meet the entire domestic demand

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA and Operator Gazociągów Przesyłowych GAZ-SYSTEM report that on February 3rd imported gas is being supplied in line with the nominations.

With the exception of temporary limitations introduced under contracts with three industrial plants, all customers are receiving the demanded quantities of gas.

According to our estimates, today's daily demand for high-methane natural gas from PGNiG's customers will exceed 70 million cubic metres, which is the same as yesterday's demand. Daily demand for natural gas is met in the following manner: supplies of gas from domestic sources amount to about 7.2 million cubic meters per day, supplies of imported gas are about 43 million cubic meters per day, and the balance comes from underground gas storage facilities.

Given the low air temperatures recorded all over Europe, PGNiG cannot rule out minor disruptions in the supplies of gas from east of Poland in the coming days.

Based on the Minister of Economy's decision of February 2nd 2012 to mobilise the mandatory stocks of natural gas, any supply disruptions may be remedied with stocks withdrawn from underground gas storage facilities of PGNiG SA, including the Mogilno Underground Gas Storage Cavern Facility.

PGNiG SA and GAZ-SYSTEM SA keep monitoring the situation and will be reporting on gas supplies and demand on an ongoing basis.
