23.01.2014 PGNiG pulls its Polish personnel from Libya over safety concerns

In light of the recent developments in Libya, PGNiG management has resolved to return the entire Polish personnel of POGC Libya BV, as well its contractors, back to Poland. The evacuation procedure is solely a precautionary measure, as no direct threat to PGNiG Group employees in Libya has been identified.

All Polish staff have already been removed from the drilling site in the Murzuq 113 licence area. The site has been sealed and secured by Libyan government forces and is being overseen by local subcontractors.

Similar measures were taken with respect to PGNiG Group employees in Libya, when political tensions escalated in February 2011. The current, precautionary withdrawal is thus completely justified.
