22.01.2009 GAZ-SYSTEM S.A./PGNiG SA: Announcement on natural gas deliveries to Poland
Operator Gazociągów Przesyłowych GAZ-SYSTEM SA (GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.) and Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGNiG SA) announce that demand for natural gas in Poland is currently being fully met. All natural gas imported from the east is being distributed.
During the last 24 hours, natural gas deliveries resumed from the east via the Drozdowicze cross-border point on the Polish-Ukrainian border, but have not reached their full level through that cross-border point. As at 18:00 hours on 22 January 2009, natural gas deliveries via the cross-border point in Drozdowicze were realised at the level of approximately 7 million m3 per day. This means that the contract with RusUkrEnergo is not realised.
In order to cover full demand for natural gas to Polish customers, an additional 7 million m3 of natural gas per day is being received via Wysokoje cross-border point on the Polish-Byelorussian border.
Additionally, in conformance with natural gas contracts, deliveries are being realised via Lasów (on the Polish-German border) as well as at receiving points at the Jamal gas-pipeline. For the national transmission system, natural gas is also received on schedule from national production as well as from underground natural gas magazines.
