Statement by PGNiG SA
In connection with the Standard & Poor's ("S&P") rating agency's 24 September 2009 revision of PGNiG's rating outlook from "stable" to "negative" while retaining a BBB+ rating, PGNiG SA would like to note that even though "the outlook revision reflects the firm's weak performance in the year-to-date", the structure of its results clearly shows that the unfavourable trend is gradually changing (reversing). This is shown by results achieved in the second quarter of 2009, which are clearly better than those from the first quarter of 2009. It appears that the achievement of goals set in the PGNiG Capital Group's annual operating plans is not under threat.
