10.01.2012 Statement by PGNiG SA
With reference to the article "Shale gas delayed?" published by the Rzeczpospolita daily on January 10th 2012, I would like to clarify as follows.
1. PGNiG SA holds 15 licences to explore for shale gas. The licences are granted by the Ministry of Environment and specify the licence holder's obligations during the licence term.
Under the licences, PGNiG is currently required to drill 24 boreholes and acquire approximately 2,700 kilometres of 2D seismic data and approximately 550 square kilometres of 3D seismic data.
2. PGNiG SA does not expect any delays and maintains its forecast concerning launch of commercial gas production at the Lubocino pad in 2014 (based on 12 horizontal wells).
3. PGNiG SA has not exchanged any letters with the Ministry of Environment regarding the Company's drilling plans for 2012.
