18.10.2017 PGNiG expansion in the Ukraine
A contract was signed by Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) and Ukrtransgaz transmission and storage network operator on cooperation in transportation of natural gas in the territory of the Ukraine.
Under the contract, PGNiG may use Ukrainian gas networks. To date, the sale of natural gas by PGNiG to Ukrainian customers was carried out at Hermanowice gas node on the Polish-Ukrainian border, i.e. before crossing the point of entry to Ukrtransgaz transmission system.
– The contract with Ukrtransgaz is yet another milestone in PGNiG trade expansion in the Ukraine. It offers new opportunities for cooperation with business partners from this country. We have gained a reputation of a reliable partner who offers natural gas at attractive prices in the Ukraine – says Maciej Woźniak, PGNiG Vice-President of the Management Board, Trade.
PGNiG has been natural gas supplier on the Ukrainian market since August 2016. As of the end of the first half of this year, the total volume of exported gas reached 660 m cubic meters.
– We keep monitoring the developments on natural gas market in the Ukraine. If new opportunities arise, we are ready to make the most of them and intensify our operation – Maciej Woźniak adds.
The contract with Ukrtransgaz is signed until the end of 2017, with automatic extension clause.
