PGNiG launches new hydrogen program

Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) has started work on projects looking to use hydrogen for power generation and automotive applications. The company will explore the possibilities of storing and transmitting hydrogen through the gas network. In the future, it wants to launch commercial hydrogen sales (the “Company”) and related services. The company has just signed a contract for the design and construction of an experimental hydrogen refuelling station.

Number of licences held by PGNiG on Norwegian Continental Shelf reaches 31

Polish Oil and Gas Company’s subsidiary PGNiG Upstream Norway has closed a transaction of February 2020 to purchase interests in two more fields. For PGNiG this means more own gas volumes, which are soon to flow to Poland via the Baltic Pipe.

More US natural gas delivered to Poland. PGNiG and Cheniere continue cooperation in LNG supplies. Third cargo under long-term contract delivered on vessel “GasLog Warsaw”

Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) has received another supply of U.S. liquefied natural gas from Cheniere, continuing the cooperation between the two companies to provide secure supplies of natural gas to Poland. Under the 2018 contract between both companies, starting from 2023 the annual LNG volume to be delivered by the US producer will increase to 1.95 bcm after regasification.

PGNiG: Production start-up from Ærfugl field in Norway

PGNiG Upstream Norway has started production from yet another field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The licence partners, including AkerBP as an operator and PGNiG as a partner, have brought on stream the first production well in the Ærfugl field, with further wells planned to start production later this year.

PGNiG with Energy Management System certification

Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) has secured a certificate confirming its Energy Management System (EMS) has been implemented in compliance with the PN-EN ISO 50001:2012 standard. Effectively applied, the Energy Management System will contribute to enhancing energy performance by lowering energy costs and reducing the environmental footprint.

Over PLN 2m donated by PGNiG to Central Clinical Hospital of Ministry of Interior and Administration in Warsaw to fight Covid-19

PGNiG has transferred over PLN 2m to the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in Warsaw as part of an aid programme run by the Ministry of State Assets. These funds will be used to purchase medical equipment and apparatus necessary in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic, such as ventilators and chest compression devices. This is one of the initiatives undertaken by the Company to support healthcare establishments through this difficult period.

First LNG truck loading operation performed by PGNiG in Lithuania

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGNiG) has sold the first two LNG cargoes from the reloading station in Klaipėda. Since April 1st 2020, the Company has been the sole user of the station, located at the entrance to the Klaipėda port.

PGNiG helps deaf people in connection with coronavirus pandemic

The PGNiG Ignacy Łukasiewicz Foundation and the Polish Association of the Deaf, with the support of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, are launching a video helpline for deaf people who need information on the coronavirus. The line will operate on a 24/7 basis to ensure non-stop access to support and assistance.
