20.07.2010 Marek Karabuła Appointed New Vice-President of PGNiG SA
At the meeting held on July 19th 2010, the Supervisory Board of PGNiG SA appointed Mr Marek Karabuła as Vice-President of the Management Board of the Company.
The Supervisory Board of PGNiG SA short-listed four candidates for the second stage of the recruitment process. Three of them arrived to be interviewed at the meeting.
Mr Marek Karabuła is a graduate of the Management Faculty of the Kraków University of Economics (Akademia Ekonomiczna w Krakowie). He has gained experience working in the Polish fuel sector. He was a member of PGNiG SA's Supervisory Board from November 2008. As of May 1st 2010, the Supervisory Board delegated him to act as Vice-President of the Management Board of the Company, after the resignation of Mr Mirosław Dobrut, who was appointed President of the Management Board of EuRoPol Gaz.
From February 7th 2008 to June 29th 2010, Mr Marek Karabuła was Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN SA. On June 25th 2010, the Annual General Shareholders Meeting of PKN ORLEN S.A. appointed Mr Karabuła to the Supervisory Board of PKN ORLEN SA for another term of office.
From January 2008 to the beginning of 2010, Mr Karabuła was President of the Management Board of Nafta Polska SA. In January 2010, he was appointed Vice-President of Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu. Mr Karabuła resigned from that post on the date of this report.
From December 2005 to October 2006, Mr Marek Karabuła was a member of the Management Board of Rafineria Trzebinia SA, from March 2006 to October 2006 - a member of the Management Board of ORLEN Oil Sp. z o.o., from December 2004 to October 2005 - Vice-President of the Management Board of Browary Polskie Brok-Strzelec SA, from October 2003 to September 2004 - Vice-President of the Management Board of AUTOSAN SA, from December 2000 to January 2002 - Vice-President of the Management Board of Browary Dolnośląskie Piast SA, from December 1994 to October 2000 - Vice-President of the Management Board of Browary Okocim SA.
In 2005, Mr Marek Karabuła successfully passed the state examination for candidates for members of supervisory boards at state-owned companies.
