03.04.2009 Information on Natural Gas Supplies to Poland
Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A. and Operator Gazociągów Przesyłowych GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. wish to inform that, since March 1st 2009, the offtake of natural gas supplied by Gazprom Export via the Drozdovitse point has been equal to the volumes agreed under the so-called Yamal Contract.
The shortage in gas supplies from RosUkrEnergo, observed since the beginning of the year, is made up for with volumes withdrawn from the underground storage facilities.
Currently, the volumes of natural gas imported from countries east of Poland account for ca. 78% of the volume originally planned.
The increased gas supplies under the Yamal Contract were flowing via the Drozdovitse cross-border point in the period from February 6th to February 28th 2009. Should such a need arise again, there is a possibility of agreeing with the supplier the resumption of increased daily supplies under the Contract.
