30.09.2014 Announcement of PGNiG SA and GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. concerning gas supplies to Poland
Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGNiG SA) and Operator Gazociągów Przesyłowych GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. hereby announce that in the period from September 19th to September 26th 2014 gas supplies to Poland from the countries east of Poland were on a stable level that guaranteed safe operation of the Polish gas transmission system. All end-users of gas in Poland receive sufficient amounts of gas to cover their requirements.
During the last week, the average domestic consumption of gas exceeded 28 mcm per day. The demand for gas was met by imports and domestic production. The current demand for gas is being met without the need to use the inventories stored in the underground gas storage facilities, which are at the moment filled with approximately 2.6 bcm of gas.
Given the ongoing process of pumping natural gas into the gas storage facilities that are currently being extended, PGNiG SA, in line with its existing trade contract with Gazprom Export, ordered increased volumes of gas to be delivered at the entry points to the Polish transmission system on the eastern border. However, such increased volumes were not confirmed or delivered by the Russian supplier in the following days. The volume of gas used to fill the gas storage facilities was supplemented with gas supplied from countries west of Poland.
If the situation concerning gas supplies to Poland changes, another announcement will be released. If the situation does not change, the companies will release the next summary of gas supplies to Poland on October 3rd 2014.
