PGNiG and PKN ORLEN move closer to merger
On July 29th 2022, the Management Boards of PGNiG SA and PKN ORLEN SA agreed on a plan of merger of the two companies and on the exchange ratio at which PGNiG shares will be swapped for PKN ORLEN shares. The merger plan will be implemented once relevant decisions are passed by the General Meetings of the two companies.

Continued strong imports of LNG by PGNiG
In June 2022, Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo received six shipments of liquefied natural gas at the Świnoujście port and two additional deliveries at Lithuania’s Klaipėda terminal. Altogether during the first half of 2022, the Company imported as many as 29 cargoes of LNG.

PGNiG Group to expand gas storage capacity by 800 mcm
The PGNiG Group will soon undertake a project to expand its Underground Gas Storage Facility (UGSF) in Wierzchowice. The project will add as much as 25% to Poland’s overall gas storage capacity, which will reach 4 bcm.

PGNiG strengthens production capacities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
PGNiG Upstream Norway AS has signed an agreement with Wellesley Petroleum AS for the purchase of shares in the Ørn gas field in the Norwegian Sea. Its exploitation will provide PGNiG Group with an additional 0.25 bcm of natural gas per year from 2026.

PGNiG Group: benefits of diversification
In the first quarter of 2022, the PGNiG Group generated over PLN 47bn in revenue, PLN 8bn in EBIT and over PLN 4bn in net profit despite an operating loss posted by the Trade and Storage business. The strong performance was driven chiefly by the upstream operations in Poland and abroad, which contributed around 90% to the PGNiG Group’s EBITDA.

PGNiG to sign another long-term contract for the supply of American LNG
PGNiG has signed Heads of Agreement with Sempra Infrastructure defining the main provisions of a purchase and sale agreement for 3 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum. The LNG would be sourced from two liquefaction terminals in the Gulf of Mexico and would come to Poland, among others, via a floating regasification terminal in the Gulf of Gdansk.

First cargo of liquefied natural gas delivered by tanker chartered by PGNiG
The tanker "Maran Gas Apollonia" with the cargo of over 65 thousand tons of liquefied natural gas arrived at the President Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. This is the first delivery made on a vessel chartered by the PGNiG Group. It is also the first shipment PGNiG has received from Venture Global LNG who will soon be a major supplier to Poland.

PGNiG intensifies production of natural gas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
PGNiG Upstream Norway plans to produce additional volume of approximately 0.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas this year. This will allow the company's total production to reach 3 bcm of gas in 2022. Following the launch of the Baltic Pipe pipeline, the hydrocarbons produced by the PGNiG Group in Norway will be delivered to Poland.

First delivery of liquefied natural gas for PGNiG to Klaipėda LNG terminal
The PGNiG Group received its first cargo of liquefied natural gas to be delivered to the LNG terminal in Klaipėda, Lithuania. The delivery of almost 65,000 tonnes of LNG from the US is a step towards further integration of gas markets in this part of Europe and strengthening of their energy security.

Halt of natural gas supplies under the Yamal contract
Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA announces that Gazprom has halted all natural gas supplies under the Yamal contract. The development has no impact on current deliveries to PGNiG’s customers, who are receiving the fuel according to their demand.
