We have increased our underground gas storage capacities

Expansion of storage facilities is one of the core elements of the PGNiG strategy. Natural gas kept in Underground Gas Storage Facilities is a strategic reserve instrumental to Poland's energy independence. We invest approximately PLN 1.3bn in expanding and upgrading the gas network each year, with some PLN 600m earmarked for projects related to its expansion and creation of new connections.

“Over the last seven years, PGNiG has nearly doubled its total storage capacities. We are currently continuing the key projects to expand our facilities even further. We expect our combined storage capacities in Poland to reach 3.2 bcm at the end of 2015,” said Mariusz Zawisza, President of the Management Board.
