Expansion of PMG Husów

The project “Expansion of the Husów Underground Gas Storage Facility” (hereinafter “Expansion of PMG Husów”) consists in expanding the working capacity of the underground gas storage facility to 500 million m3 (the project will allow to increase the total storage capacity of PMG Husów by 100 million m3, i.e. from 400 to 500 million m3), and is to be implemented in the years 2012-2015. The following activities were performed as part of the project:

  • delivery of compressor complete with auxiliary equipment, including preparation of design and construction and working documentation,
  • construction and installation works,
  • delivery and installation of technological equipment for the expansion and redevelopment of surface technological facilities.

Project value: PLN 76,68,526.32

Maximum grant value: PLN 35,147,083.24

PMG Wierzchowice

Project description

The Project provides for design, construction and installation works related to building ground-based technological facilities, including land development and administrative and social facilities for handling the surface part of the PMG, and drilling works involving making boreholes for handling the underground part of the storage facility. The delivery and installation of technological equipment apply both to surface and underground parts of the PMG.

The tasks to be performed as part of the Project include the following:

1. Building the surface part of PMG Wierzchowice as a turnkey investment.

2. Drilling boreholes with horizontal sections.

3. Purchase of buffer gas (gas cushion).

The scope of the works for the surface part covers the following:

1. Surface equipment of PMG Wierzchowice located within the area of the contemplated Central Site, including development of the Site’s area.

2. Surface equipment of Group Sites:

- “A” – located north-east of the proposed Central Site;

- “B” – located within the area of the proposed Central Site, including development of the area of the aforementioned Group Sites and connecting the aforementioned facilities to the proposed Central Site.

3. Administrative and service part.

PMG Strachocina

The Strachocina Underground Gas Storage Facility Project (hereinafter referred to as “PMG Strachocina”) consisted in expanding the working capacity of the underground gas storage facility to 330 million m3 (the Project allowed to increase total storage capacity of PMG Strachocina by 180 million m3, i.e. from 150 to 330 million m3).

Project implementation included construction and installation works associated with building surface technological facilities, administrative and social facilities, land development and drilling works concerning making boreholes for handling the underground part of the storage facility. The delivery and installation of technological equipment for both surface and underground parts of the storage facility.

The project PMG Strachocina has been completed and settled.

KPMG KOSAKOWO

The project provides for the construction of Kosakowo Underground Cavern Gas Storage Facility (KPMG) (hereinafter: construction of Kosakowo KPMG) with working capacity of 100 million m3, expected to be implemented in the years 2007-2014.

Project implementation included construction and installation works related to building surface technological facilities and complete administrative and social facilities required to operate the storage facility, and drilling works concerning making boreholes for building the caverns and handling the underground part of the storage facility. The supply and installation of technological equipment apply both to surface and underground parts of the KPMG Kosakowo storage facility. The tasks concerning the surface part of the Project included:

a) drilling boreholes,

b) construction of a leaching plant – buildings and structures,

c) construction of a leaching plant – technological systems,

d) installing an extraction device,

e) construction of a pipeline for discharging brine into the Bay of Puck,

f) construction of surface operational part - buildings and structures,

g) construction of surface operational part - technological installations,

h) gas network hookup fee,

i) power grid hookup fee,

j) investment preparation works.

The tasks related to the underground (mining) part under the project include:

a) leaching of 4 storage caverns (K-1 to K-4),

b) injecting gas up to the working and buffer capacity while discharging the brine.

The project “Switching from propane and butane gas to E gas using LNG technology in Ełk and Olecko”.

Project value: PLN 15,662,813.96

Maximum grant value: PLN 5,537,680.75

Expenditure eligibility period: September 1, 2012 – October 31, 2014

The following have been completed under the Project:
a) building an LNG regasification installation in Ełk with annual capacity of 9,700,000 m3 and hourly capacity of 2000 m3 within the area of the existing propane-butane-air mixing plant. Connecting the LNG installation to the existing propane-butane-air distribution network in Ełk with total length of approx. 54 kilometers.

b) building an LNG regasification facility in Olecko with annual capacity of 3,774,000 m3 and hourly capacity of 1200 m3 within the area of the existing propane-butane-air mixing plant. Connecting the LNG installation to the existing propane-butane-air distribution network in Olecko with total length of approx. 29 kilometers.

No new sections of the gas distribution network are to be built under the Project. According to the Project it is planned to use the existing gas distribution network in Ełk and Olecko. The existing gas distribution networks are in good technical condition and do not require upgrading. The project “Switching from propane and butane gas to E gas using LNG technology in Ełk and Olecko” has been completed. The application for final payment has been submitted, currently being assessed by the Oil and Gas Institute – National Research Institute.
