17.12.2010 PGNiG SA to Lower Gas Prices with Effect from January 2011

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGNIG SA) reports that on December 16th 2010 the President of the Energy Regulatory Office approved the new Tariff for the supply of gas fuels, which introduces lower prices of gas fuels. The new prices of gas fuels will be effective from January 1st 2011 until March 31st 2011. Under the new Tariff, the prices of high-methane gas and nitrogen-rich gas will decrease on average by ca. 3.23%. This means that the monthly gas bills of households using gas for cooking will be lower by PLN 0.31 on average. The rates of network charges and subscription fees will not change. The prices of propane-butane-air gas and decompressed natural gas will also remain unchanged.

In connection with the negotiated discount for natural gas obtained from Gazprom Export, PGNiG SA applied for lowering of the Tariff for gas sale effective until March 31st 2011.

On October 29th 2010, the two companies entered into a contract under which 15% of the volume of natural gas supplies shall be subject to discount. In view of the quantity of gas already offtaken under the contract, PGNiG SA expects to offtake the volume of natural gas entitling it to the highest discount.

As a result, the average amount of total charges related to the supply of high-methane gas to customers will decrease by 2.3%.

As for nitrogen-rich gas, the new Tariff provides for an average fall of the total charges for its supply by 2.3% in the case of the Lw subgroup and by 2.05% in the case of the Ls subgroup.
