13.12.2007 PGNiG S.A. has acquired shares in exploration license in Denmark

PGNiG S.A. has signed an assignment agreement of 40 percent shares in exploration license in Denmark.

The deal has been concluded with Willumsen Exploration Consultants ApS. The acquisition means beginning of PGNiG's exploration activity on promising areas in Denmark and cooperation with Danish companies Odin Energi A/S and Nordsofonden. According to specialists this license provides chance of oil discovery in main dolomite deposits which are similar to deposits in northern areas of Poland (Gorzów, Pomorze). Thirteen oil and gas deposits ( e.g. Grimmem i Reinkenhagen) were discovered in a very similar zone in Germany just east of the license area and further east deposits of Wysoka Kamie?ska, Kamie? Pomorski, Maszewo in Poland. There are also Gorzów area deposits situated on the opposite southern bank of the basin and many of the German and Dutch deposits located further west.  PGNiG S.A was offered to acquire 40 percent of the shares of the license 1/05 situated in the south of Denmark near the German border in August last year. The new  owners of the license PGNiG S.A.- 40% shares and Odin Energi A/S  - 40% shares. In accordance with Danish law, 20% are owned by the Danish state company Nordsofonden.
