09.10.2007 Geofizyka Torun wins the tender for seismic surveys in Germany

GeofizykaTorun, a subsidiary company of the PGNiG Group, won the tender for performanceof seismic surveys in Germanyfor GeoEnergy.

The area tobe explored is located in the South‑West of Germany, and the work is expectedto begin in November this year.

GeofizykaTorun Sp. z o.o. has been engaged in petroleum exploration for over 40 years, both domestically (mainly for PGNiG) and abroad for various major investors, including Shell, Cairn Energy, RWE Dea, Eni. For several years, the Company hasbeen the leader in one of the largest petroleum exploration markets, i.e. in India.

The Germanmarket is not a new one for GT; the Company has been carrying out geophysicalstudies there for many years now and is a recognised brand in the localpetroleum industry. It has completed, among other things, seismic surveys inthe Lower Saxony for Preussag Energie (currentlyin the Gaz de France Group), gaining excellent credentials. However, it is alsoa difficult market due to elevated safety and environmental standards. Theworks are carried out within protected areas and in highly urbanized terrainand require perfect organization in terms of both methodology and logistics.

Germany is a very prospective market forGeofizyka Torun. Currently, discussions on new contracts from other companiesholding concessions for hydrocarbon field exploration in Germany are underway.
